Experimentation
I had two things I needed to test before using them for "important" things....
-A new film type
-A device that helps me with multiple exposures
The photos came out great....except for a few where there wasn't enough light....

Now that it is mid-September, perhaps its a good time to say goodbye to summer?
I think not!
Thankfully, living in San Diego, we are blessed with extended summers. Water temperatures are higher than average this time of year. It's not like that will stop me for going out in the ocean though. The Nikonos has many more beach trips to go for the rest of the year.
Don't ask me why the photos came out this dark-orange shade...perhaps its from when the film was cooking in the sun when I left my camera in the car?
This year's new years resolution was to work on my BALANCE. Originally, it was to work on physical balance....but then it evolved into a little more than that. We are all trying to balance ourselves. You can call it zen, you can call it homeostasis....it's all a form of balance. With this balance project, I'm exploring how other people are finding their own center of gravity to better help me with my own balancing act. We will be adventuring through balancing time, architecture, bodies, relationships, cultures, and a few other topics.
I'm excited to what this is going to turn into.
I'm still tripping over the fact that La Jolla Cove was renamed to Matlahuayl State Reserve without me knowing about it. When it comes to ocean news, I'm usually the first to know....but regardless...."Matlahuayl" means "Place of the Caves". It's from the language of the natives that previously inhabited La Jolla....and it appears the natives, ie the SEA LIONS, are taking over again.
I didn't get any good photos of the Sea Lions underwater. Here are some more photos from my Nikonos V.
It's been a huge work in progress for my first big portrait project. I've learned a few things about making the process for the 2nd project much smoother. Stay tuned for more frequent updates.
